This Scholarship and Grant aim to develop the mechanics of Southwest Jiaotong University and continue to keep the leading position at home and abroad and train more mechanics talents for our society and country.

The students of grade 1986 of in the school of Mechanics and Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University, proposed the establishment of the "Grade of 1986 Engineering Mechanics Fund". (it is referred to as "Mechanics 86 Fund").

The fund's principal and value-added income are earmarked for establishing the "86 Scholarship and Grant" in the School of Mechanics and Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University.

1、The selection scope

This scholarship is open for the undergraduate students of the School of Mechanics and Engineering in Southwest Jiaotong University (including the students whose major is Mechanics in MAO Yisheng school).

2、The number and amount of the scholarship

The scholarship is awarded to 2 undergraduates who major in mechanics and excel at both conduct and learning. The amount is 5,000 yuan per student. The Mechanics 86 Fund has also established "The 86 Grant" to subsidize 2 undergraduates who are academically qualified in mechanical major and have family financial difficulties every year. The grant is 5,000 yuan per student.

3、The selection conditions

(1)、Recipients of the grant should be patriotic, collectivistic, and respectful for teachers. Recipients should be of a strong sense of enterprise and social responsibility, good moral quality. Recipients should not be used to smoking、drinking、addicted to games and other bad habits.

 (2)、Recipients of the grant should be actively participating in social works and class activities, having a better comprehensive performance

(3)、Basic requirements of The 86 scholarship：

1)、Junior and senior undergraduate students of the School of Mechanics and Engineering(including junior and senior undergraduates who are majoring in Mechanics of MAO Yisheng school)

2)、Excellence in studies.

(4) 、Basic requirements for The 86 Grant：

1) Undergraduates of the school of Mechanics and Engineering(including. undergraduates who are majoring in Mechanics of MAO Yisheng school)

    2) Family with financial difficulties.

3) Pass all the exams and have a qualified grade.

4. The selection method

(1)、Every September, undergraduates who qualified for the requirements can apply to the Student Working Group of the School of Mechanics and Engineering.

 (2)、Reviewed by the Student Working Group of School of Mechanics and Engineering, The candidates will be determined on a scale of 1:2. Of publicity, without objection, the candidate's list will be submitted for review by The 86 Foundation Council.

(3)、The 86 Foundation Council will review and identify the list of candidates, determine the recipients of this year, and publicize the results.

(4)、Of publicity, without objection, the recipients' list will be submitted to The University special Scholarship Evaluation Committee for review.

(5)、Other procedures shall be carried out following the school's relevant School Scholarship and grant assessment management measures。
